A stunning solid silver, English, 19th century highly engraved chain driven fusee Lever pocket watch, by the maker Garland of Plymouth. The watch is very substantial, and in a 1.0 oz silver hunter case, so requires a secure pocket. The watch is in full working order and comes complete with a key for winding and a presentation box.

THE DIAL: 95%, the white enamel dial with fine black Roman numerals, and a separate minute track to outside of dial with no chips but a number of faint hairlines, with a subsidary seconds dial. With blue steel hour and minute spade hands. The original glass in very fine condition. The diameter is 35 mm.

THE MOVEMENT: 100% mint, with richly gilded 3/4 plate in wonderful condition. The balance cock with a large ruby end-stone to the centre of the shiny steel three-arm balance wheel. The backplate with further decoration and a blued steel Bosley regulator. The watch is keywind, and the movement size is 39 mm in diameter. The escapement with very good and strong action and jeweled to this wheel. The movement signed by Garland of Plymouth, and number 1079. Pierced gilded fusee stop work with an iron hinge. The watch with fusee chain on tight to barrel and fusee cone and a good free-swinging balance and the watch runs the full length of the fusee chain, keeping good time. The watch comes with a winding key for hands set and winding. The watch is much brighter and crisp than in these dark photos, which are limited by my camera and lighting equipment.

THE CASE: 100% mint, the solid silver hunter case measures an impressive 46 mm outside diameter. The silver hinged covers all closing tightly, and in fine order. The three knuckle hinges in good order. The cases with London hall-marks, case maker marks, and sterling silver marks. The case maker mark of WD and number of 6584. The pendant and very well made bow, in superb condition. The case with no pin-holes or stretch marks, to the case. The inner dust cuvette also in very clean and good order. The top cover lifted by finger, when the pendant button is depressed
