Introducing a highly unique late 18th Century miniature cylinder watch, nestled within a beautiful diamond-set gold ring housing. The small full plate movement boasts a fusee and chain, with exquisitely pierced and engraved bridge cock featuring a steel coqueret, and steel regulator on top of the plate, just below the plain three-arm gilt balance. The polished steel cylinder is paired with a brass escape wheel, and the watch is wound through a small white enamel dial marked by Roman numerals and striking gilt hands. The small plain gold consular case is appointed with a gold pendant and bow, with the front bezel set with a row of small diamonds. But that's not all, the gold ring housing itself is hinged, designed to seamlessly display and protect the watch within, while the back is carefully engraved with a monogram, and the shank set with diamonds. A truly rare and remarkable piece, measuring just 14.3mm across, it may well be the smallest known fusee movement of its time. Estimated to have been crafted around 1780, with a diameter of 16.5mm.
