This is a beautiful timepiece from the 18th Century, made in France. It is a quarter repeating verge watch, housed in a gold and enamel consular case. The movement is a full plate gilt fusee, with a finely pierced and engraved bridge cock. The balance has three arms made of steel, and it features a blue steel spiral hairspring. The regulator dial is made of silver, with a gilt indicator. The watch has a push pendant quarter repeating mechanism, which strikes the time on two gold blocks in the case. The watch is wound through the fully restored signed white enamel dial, which has Arabic numerals and decorative pierced gold hands. The consular case is made of 18 carat gold, and it is beautifully chased and engraved. The standout feature of the case is the polychrome enamel scene, which depicts a basket of fruit with agricultural implements in the background. The maker's mark "IPC" is located below a crown.
