Step back in time with the exquisite "Harry Potter's Watch London Gold Repousse Verge Fusee - 1791," a stunning testament to the craftsmanship of the late 18th century. Created by the esteemed London watchmaker Harry Potter, who was active from 1775 to 1803, this triple-cased pocket watch is a marvel of horological engineering and artistry. The watch's intricate repousse case, featuring detailed images of knights and camel riders, is believed to have been finished by the renowned jeweler Maweis. Despite the cosmetic restoration of the outer chagreen case, the two gold inner cases remain in excellent condition, along with the pristine enamel dial. What sets this timepiece apart is its retention of the original hands and both original crystals, including a distinctive bulls-eye crystal on the dial side. Not only does this watch still function, but it also keeps time with remarkable accuracy for its era. Comparable pieces by Potter are housed in prestigious institutions such as the British Museum and the Metropolitan Museum, underscoring the historical significance and masterful design of this watch. A true collector's item, this pocket watch is a remarkable artifact from a bygone era, encapsulating the ingenuity and elegance of 18th-century watchmaking.
This incredible pocket watch is a triple cased Verge Fuzee model produced by the renowned London watchmaker Harry Potter in 1791. Potter was a master watchmaker who worked in London between 1775 and 1803 and was known for his complex movements and beautifully finished cases. This particular watch features an impressive repousse case adorned with images of knights and camel riders, likely finished by Maweis, another well-known jeweler of the time.
