Step back in time with the exquisite Swiss enamel verge pocket watch from circa 1780, a true testament to the artistry and craftsmanship of the 18th century. This remarkable timepiece, originating from the renowned watchmaking hub of Geneva, is a captivating blend of beauty and functionality. Encased in a gilt case, it features stunning enamel decorations that capture the eye and evoke a sense of timeless elegance. The watch's movement is a gilt verge movement, showcasing a meticulously engraved and pierced balance bridge, a large silvered regulator disk, and four round pillars, all signed by the esteemed watchmaker Mauris A Geneve. The movement is in excellent condition and runs smoothly, a testament to the enduring quality of its construction. The white enamel dial, also signed, remains in perfect condition with only minor wear around the winding aperture, complemented by elegant white metal hands. The case's allure is further enhanced by its gilt finish and an enchanting enamel plaque on the back, depicting a pastoral scene with a young couple, bordered by intricate designs and silhouette portraits. Despite some wear to the gilding, the metalwork remains in good condition, with functional hinges and a secure crystal-set bezel. The enamel on the back is in pristine original condition, unmarred by chips or restoration, maintaining only a few light scratches. Housed under a high dome crystal, this pocket watch is a beautiful relic from the past, crafted by Henri Mauris, who worked in Geneva from around 1775 to 1810, and is a perfect piece for collectors and enthusiasts of fine horology.
