Step back in time with the exquisite Swiss Made Half Hunter Pocket Watch, a timeless piece from⁤ the late 19th to early 20th century. This elegant timepiece, crafted without ‍a specific maker's name, epitomizes the Swiss mastery in horology, renowned for ⁢producing an array of high-quality, generic watch movements that found ⁤their way across the globe. The watch's⁢ sterling silver case, marked with the 925 hallmark, signifies its authenticity and premium quality. Additionally, the distinctive hallmark resembling two capital "Fs" facing each‌ other provides a clue to its origins, indicating⁤ it was imported ‍silver, adding ‍an extra layer of historical intrigue. Whether you're‍ a collector, a history enthusiast, or someone who appreciates the art of fine watchmaking, this Swiss Made ⁢Half Hunter Pocket Watch‌ offers a fascinating glimpse into the craftsmanship and global reach ⁣of Swiss horology during the 1890s to 1900s.

This is a Swiss Made Half Hunter Pocket Watch without any specific makers name. The Swiss produced very many generic watch movements which were shipped all over the world. Frequently an idea of the age and where a watch was sold can be worked out by the marks and hallmarks on the silver case. Of course the 925 indicates that it is Sterling Silver. One of the hallmarks looks like two capital “Fs” on their sides facing each other and this is the mark for Imported Silver to Glasgow while the other looks a bit like a stylised “O” and the nearest date letter for Glasgow that looks like this is for 1899 which is actually a “C” - it is not entirely right, however, this is pretty close to the presumed date on the watch. The sharp eyed will have noticed that there are a few teeth missing from the winding wheel. So far as I can tell this has no detrimental effect on winding the watch at all.

This is a really pretty watch - in fact probably one of the prettiest I have ever seen and the engraving is almost as sharp as it must have been when new. It is working really well after its ultrasound clean. An absolute beauty.
